Spring !!!

 

The Beauty and the Beast

 Within a few meters from each other I saw a beautiful butterfly and a viper. What a contrast.  Unfortunately the viper had been run over by one of the very few cars that traffic our gravel road. Sad since it is a protected species and is very good at hunting rodents. 

The Cranes (Grus grus ) are here !

The cranes are here! To be honest, they have been here a few weeks but this is the first time I came close enough to take some pictures. Big, beautiful birds that seem to be faithful to each other.

Spring in Malmö

 Malmö is a three hours drive south of Svångemåla and that is far enough to make a difference in the climate. Not a lot but usually a couple of weeks.  

Here are some of the signs I have seen during the last week of how spring has arrived in Malmö.

Love is in the air and it seems as if we will have more pigeons next year :)

Snow! And rain...

 Snow and hard wind in Svångemåla today. I feel really sorry for the birds and all who have to be outdoors today. Warm and waterproof cloths help but it is still not my favourite weather!

Long-tailed tit (Aegithalos caudatus)

 One of the cutest birds I know is the Long-tailed tit. It is not common in Svångemåla compared to many other birds but I have been lucky to see several the last couple of days. As always, click on the picture to enlarge it!

One more sign of spring...

 The tulips have started to come up!!!!

Beginning of March

It is still winter in Svångemåla although all snow has melted away and there are some signs of spring. Here are some snapshots to give you an idea...
